Three-tier Panchayat Election-2015: Meeting of District Election Officers

State Election Commissioner along with Senior Officials of State Government discussed about the arrangements for Panchayat elections and finalized the strategy for conducting independent, unbiased and peaceful elections. State Election Commissioner PC Dalai, Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand, Director General of Police AN Upadhyay, Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department NK Aswal reviewed the district-wise arrangements and gave necessary guidance and instructions on important aspects like voting, counting and security arrangements.

Around 150 girl students of Bijapur Districtpaid courtesy visit to Governor Balramji Das Tandon here on Monday. MLA from Bijapur Mahesh Gagda was also present on the occasion. The girls studying in classes VI to VIII, during the course of their visit also visited the Darbar Hall.
Governor asked them to be sincere in academics and try to be self-dependent in later stage of life.

Shikshak Panchayat seek monthly wages

School Education Employees Union district and block president Kailash Ramteke led delegation called on Education Minister Kedar Kashyap on his visit to town. They raised the problems faced by them. The Shikshak Panchayat stated that under National Higher Secondary Education Drive, the teachers had not received their wages since March 2014, which is around eight months. Similarly, teachers working in Panchayat under Rajiv Gandhi Education Mission have also not received their wages from April 2014. Bijapur and Bhairamgarh Panchayat teachers have not received their wages from August 2014.

On the occasion of Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary on October 2, pledge to 'make India clean' will be taken in all the offices, schools-colleges and various organizations in Chhattisgarh. Under nation-wide Swachchh Bharat Abhiyaan, these pledge-ceremonies will be organized in all 27 District Headquarters of state around 9.30 am. Chief Minister, Regional MPs, MLAs, and Jila Panchayat Presidents will grace these programmes as Chief Guests and administer the pledge.

Government to establish blood banks in 13 districts within a month

State government will establish blood banks in thirteen districts of the state within a month. State Health Minister Amar Agrawal has directed the health department officials in a review meeting to make all the necessary arrangements in this regard. The minister informed that the blood banks will be started in Jashpur, Narainpur, Bijapur, Kondagaon, Sukma, Balrampur, Surajpur, Janjgir-Champa, Mungeli, Bemetara, Balod, Gariaband and Baloda Bazaar districts within a month. It may be mentioned that the state health department is presently running blood banks in sixteen districts.

Road construction in forest areas of LWE affected districts is no more a complicated procedure

General approval for construction of roads on forestland in 10 Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected districts of state will now be granted easily, as Central Government has slackened the rules related to this procedure. Centre has simplified the procedure for general approval under Section-2 of Central Forest Conservation Act 1980, keeping in view the need of infrastructural development for public utility. As per the simplified procedure, the general approval for construction of two-lane highways on forestland will be given by State Government itself.

Students from Dantewada and Bijapur, who had an opportunity to meet the first citizen of the state Governor Balramji Dass Tandon at Raj Bhavan and the Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh on Sunday, were delighted after listening to the inspiring words from the Governor and the Chief Minister. The students from the naxalhit districts were in the capital on Sunday under a study tour. During their visit to the Raj Bhavan. the students were advised by the Governor to learn as much as possible as it is the right time for them to do so.

In a major success for Chhattisgarh police, 13 ultras, Including a woman, surrendered along with arms and explosives in separate places of the insurgency-hit Bastar region. "Thecadres who surrendered, said they were frustrated with the high handedness of senior cadres particularly from Andhra Pradesh and exploitation by them of women and lower rank rebels," a senior police official told PTI. They were involved in several incidents of crime including, blast incidents, damaging government properties, torching vehicle engaged in road construction and others, in the region, the official added.
