बरबसपुर खदान में नक्सलियों ने फूंकी 19 गाडिय़ां

कांकेर, (वीएनएस)। कांकेर जिले के कोरर थाना क्षेत्र में मंगलवार दोपहर 25 की संख्या में पहुंचे नक्सलियों ने बरबसपुर स्थित खदान की 18 गाडिय़ों को आग के हवाले कर दिया। घटना कोरर थाना क्षेत्र से महज 10 किलोमीटर दूर की है। सूचना पर एसपी कांकेर एमएल कोटवानी सहित स्थानीय पुलिस मौके पर पहुंचे थे लेकिन नक्सली घटना स्थल से जा चुके थे।

City buses to be started in 70 cities soon

About 450 city buses will be started in 70 big and small cities in Chhattisgarh soon. Twenty-one main cities and 49 link towns are included. Chief Secretary Mr. Vivek Dhand chaired the meeting on transport and it was attended by top officers of the department. The process of tender work for the purchase of buses is completed.

State Election Commissioner along with Senior Officials of State Government discussed about the arrangements for Panchayat elections and finalized the strategy for conducting independent, unbiased and peaceful elections. 11 forest mandals chosen for Green India Mission in State

The Green India Mission will be implemented in Chhattisgarh also. The Central Government has given a green signal to the Mission. Eleven forest mandals were chosen in the first year.Eighty forest management committees and villages will be linked to the Green India Mission. The forest mandals are Kawardha, Bilaspur,Marwahi, Katgora, Bastar, Kanker, South Kondagaon, Raipur, North Sarguja and South Sarguja.

Public Distribution System : State Government allots 48 thousand quintals of rice for Midday Meal


Under Public Distribution System (PDS), State Government has allotted 48 thousand 024 quintals of rice for midday meal scheme in all 27 districts of state for this month. This includes 25 thousand 373 quintals of rice for primary schools and 22 thousand 651 quintals of rice for middle schools.

The counter-insurgency operation of police on Tuesday got shot In the arm when 20 Maoists, most of them carrying rewards on their head, surrendered at separate places of Bastar region. With this, the total number of rebels laying down arms has reached to nearly 280 this year in the state.
Twelve Naxals, including three women, surrendered before senior police and BSF officials in Kanker district, citing atrocities on tribals and sexual exploitation of of local women by senior cadres, Kanker Superintendent of Police RN Dash told PTI.

Road construction in forest areas of LWE affected districts is no more a complicated procedure

General approval for construction of roads on forestland in 10 Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected districts of state will now be granted easily, as Central Government has slackened the rules related to this procedure. Centre has simplified the procedure for general approval under Section-2 of Central Forest Conservation Act 1980, keeping in view the need of infrastructural development for public utility. As per the simplified procedure, the general approval for construction of two-lane highways on forestland will be given by State Government itself.

Chhattisgarh will win the war of jungle

In his address to the trainee personnel and localites during the inaugural function of 'Dronachary Bhavan' at Jungle Warfare College, Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh said that Chhattisgarh will eventually win the war of jungle. Naxal violence and terror in Bastar region will soon come to an end, as it ended in Sarguja district. Like other areas of the state, Bastar region is also developing a positive environment for peaceful progress. Police personnel are all-determined to fight the war against violence and terror. Dr. Raman Singh said that Chhattisgarh is a state of peace-loving people.
