Overwhelming response from public for Vikas Yatra-2013 proves that state government has been working selflessly in the right direction of public interest, said Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh while addressing a massive gathering at Tehsil and Block Headquarters Konta of newly-formed Sukma district on the second day of state-wide Vikas Yatra-2013. Adding another chapter to the development journey of the district, Chief Minister announced development schemes worth Rs 102 crores for Sukma.

Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh will gift 101 developmental and construction works worth Rs 170 crores to the people of newly formed Sukma and Kondagaon districts on the second day of his State wide 'Vikas Yatra' on Tuesday. It will be the first 'Vikas Yatra' under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh in the two newly-formed districts which are affected by Naxal violence.

4 Naxals arrested with arms explosives near Kondagaon

A joint team of District Police (DP) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) arrested three Naxalites along with a huge haul of explosives and arms, during their routine searching in Bayanar village fair. The Naxalites have been taken into custody and further interrogation is on. According to information received, a joint team of DP of CRPF were on their routine searching in Bayanar, Mungwal, Badko, Kejang, Madanar and negighboring villages, especially in the area adjoining Bayanar villages fair when they were tipped off about the presence of a few Naxalites.

Kondagaon to Celebrate its 1st anniversary

Kondagon the 27th district in Chhattisgarh, would celebrate its first anniversary on Thursday, January 24, in presence of Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh who is likely to announce Rs 134.51 crore worth of development works for the district. The major projects include a Composite Building, 100-bed district hospital building and foundation stone would be laid for the construction of Sarpanch Sadan for all the five development blocks. Similarly, the Chief Minister would distribute bicycles and sewing machines to 880 women labourer from unorganized sectors of the district.

Two Naxals arrested

The Special Task Force constituted by District Superintendent of Police D Sharavan along with Additional Superintendent of police (ASP) Naxal Ops Surjeet Atri nabbed two Naxals in the forests of Bayanar, Badko, Permapal and Mungwal on Monday. The two arrested insurgents have been identified as Munna Yadav son of Dhaniram Yadav from Madanar village and Ram Sai son of Jagat resident of village Madanar.
