Union Agriculture Minister Mr Radhamohan Singh today announced the construction of a conference hall at a cost of Rs 3 crore on the premises of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University here. The hall will be in the name of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. He was speaking at the two-day seventh regional meet of the Indian Agricultural Research Council. State government will establish blood banks in thirteen districts of the state within a month. State Health Minister Amar Agrawal has directed the health department officials in a review meeting to make all the necessary arrangements in this regard. The minister informed that the blood banks will be started in Jashpur, Narainpur, Bijapur, Kondagaon, Sukma, Balrampur, Surajpur, Janjgir-Champa, Mungeli, Bemetara, Balod, Gariaband and Baloda Bazaar districts within a month. It may be mentioned that the state health department is presently running blood banks in sixteen districts.

Girl child born after April 01, 2014 will be applicable for benefits under scheme. Those who are living under Bit as per the census record of 2002 will also be entitled for scheme.
Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Dr. Raman Singh on Tuesday had a meeting with Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Shri Jual Oram at New Delhi, where they discussed development and expansion of education and other facilities in tribal-populated areas. With a view to decrease school dropout rates in remote areas of Chhattisgarh, the Centre on Tuesday accorded sanction for construction of 13 hostels/ashrams of 500-seater capacity in tribal-dominated areas with no school facilities told Minister Oram in the meeting.

Eight Naxalites with intention to return to mainstream has surrendered before Dornapal Subdivisional Officer Police Sanjay Dhruve while Konta police has arrested a warrantee Naxalite and sent him to jail. Dornapal SDOP Dhruve said that Kerlapal area committee members Madkam Joga, Vetty Huda, Madkam Deva, Madkam Podiya, Madkam Joga, Polyam Muiyya, Kawasi Nanda and Punam Morju had been linked with Left wing extremist organisation for long. They had stated of the hazardous life and harassment as reason for leaving the organisation.
Two Border Security Force (BSF) personnel and the van driver (civilian) died while the BSF doctor suffered severe injuries when the Naxalites took another vicious move on Tuesday morning by triggering a landmine blast on Manjhipara culvert, located on Kerlapal-Bade Sitti road, situated 18 km from Sukma district headquarters. The BSF personnel had just left Sukma after successful completing of their election duty. Unfortunately, targeting them, they fell prey to a 35-kgs bomb planted under the Manjhipara culvert that exploded when the van was crossing the culvert.
