In an important , the single bench of Justice Satish Kumar Agnihotri on Friday, as an interim measure, stayed the land acquisition process initiated by the Naya Raipur Development Authority (NRDA) for construction of new State capital city. The Court had earlier issued notices to UOI, State administration and NRDA with direction to file return in the matter. However, despite several hearings of the case, no return has so far been filed by the respondents.
About 2.60lakh students across Biaspur Division will appear for the higher secondary and high school exams to be conducted by Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE), this year. The board exams would being from March 1.
Of the total about 1.85lakh students would appear for high school exams and about 85,000 in the higher secondary school exams. From Bilaspur city itself about 44,000 students would appear in the high school and 22,000 in the higher secondary exams. The Education department will conduct the exams in 159 centres across the district including 19 new centres.
At the sight of a small group of children heading toward the gate of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) premises in Purasawalkam here, Santoshi starts crying. Waiting for over three hours in the lane leading to the premises, she says: “I am hoping I will get to take my daughter with us at least today.” However, it was too soon for her to know.
On Friday morning, the lane off Purasawalkam High Road that leads to the Child Welfare Committee premises had several families waiting. Each of them, evidently anxious, had a different story to tell.
