Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh today held a high-level meeting with top officers over the situation arising out of the deaths of several women after operations at a sterilization camp at Pendari village in Bilaspur district. The meeting was held at the Chief Minister's official residence.
Union Agriculture Minister Mr Radhamohan Singh today announced the construction of a conference hall at a cost of Rs 3 crore on the premises of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University here. The hall will be in the name of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. He was speaking at the two-day seventh regional meet of the Indian Agricultural Research Council. On the instructions of Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh, he also announced the construction of a kisaan hostel in the name of Late Dr Khubchand Baghel in the capital.

National Rural Road Development Agency, New Delhi have finalized the tour schedule of National Quality Monitors (NQM) for scrutinizing the quality of construction works under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). In the current month of September, six NQMs will visit nine districts of Chhattisgarh to inspect the quality of ongoing construction works.
