EVEN the ten days are over, police have still not been able to arrest the persons involved in the disfiguring of Dr. Bhimarao Ambedkar’s statue at Lailunga block head-quarters. The act has filled the followers with immense displeasure which they expressed there by staging a day demonstration here in front of SDM office. Later, they also took out the massive rally and warned of launching the intense agitation for if the accused are not arrested by july 25.
A WOMAN along with her daughter was arrested for allegedly murdering her husband at village Chaple under Kharsia police limits. It may be recalled here that two months ago a girl along with her mother allegedly burnt her own father to death. The accused duos were arrested on the basis of postmortem and viscera report. As per information received in this regard, Mangarabai (42) accompanied by her daughter Rohini (20) were arrested under section 302, 34 of Indian Penal Code (IPC). As per police sources, on May 17th Labhoram Kumhar(45) reportedly died of burn injuries.
Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh today said that five development works worth Rs 467 crore will be taken up soon at Tehsil headquarter Sarangarh and in the district Raigarh. He was addressing a mammoth public meeting at Sarangarh. This includes laying and developing of three main roads worth Rs 450 crore 65 lakh. He performed the foundation stone laying and 'Bhoomipujan' of the projects. About Rs 328 crore will be spent on upgrading and widening of Raigarh-Sarangarh- Saraipali National Highway No-216.
Urban Administration Minister Mr. Amar Agrawal said that in last 11 years, Raigarh city has undergone major facelift in terms of development. Raigarh is today one of the fastest developing city of the state. He said that not only Raigarh city, rather entire Raigarh district is undergoing fast paced development. In days to come, Raigarh will become most beautiful and developed city of Chhattisgarh. Mr. Agrawal was addressing a programme, organized yesterday in Municipal Corporation premise of Raigarh District Headquarters, under Lok Suraaj Abhiyan.

Newly-elected Jila Panchayat President of Raigarh Mr. Purushottam Agrawal paid courtesy call on Chief Minister at his residence office, yesterday evening. Dr Singh congratulated Mr. Agrawal for taking charge as Jila Panchayat President. Dr Singh assured that state government will extend all the support for rural development works. On the occasion, MLA Dr Jawahar Nayak, Janpad Member Mr. Sanjay Bhushan and Prakash Agrawal were also present.
