Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Dr. Raman Singh has expressed profound grief for the CRPF personnel, martyred while braving naxal attack today at Taakbada near village Tongpal of Jagdalpur (Bastar) and Sukma district. Dr Singh has strongly condemned this dastardly act of naxalites. He has expressed heartfelt condolence to the families of the martyrs. Dr. Singh has condemned the naxal attack saying that it was a cowardly act of naxalites.

Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh inaugurated the Ojaswini Alankaran Samaroh being held at Ravindra Bhawan in Bhopal on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda's 151st Jayanti. Speaking on the inaugural function the Chief Minister stressed upon necessity for women empowerment stating that it is not only the greatest requirement of time but it is a symbol of honor women power. The Chief Minister also highlighted various social programmers implemented by his government, including the ration card scheme in the name of women head of the family.
Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh addressed the massive public gathering organized in Tehsil Headquarters Bhopalpatnam of leftist insurgency-affected Bijapur district, situated roughly 525 km away from capital city Raipur. In his address, Chief Minister said that State Government's schemes are made for the welfare of every family in state. State Government believes that development of every individual is the key to overall progress of state. Positive effects of these schemes are much visible in form of development in areas of Bijapur.

Delegation members invited Chief Minister for curtain raising the statue of Ashoka- The Great erected at Transport Nagar Square in Bhilai.
