A fixed portion of the Royalty on mining of major minerals (important) will be given by the mining patta -owners (Mining Land Lease Owners) to the District Mining Trust. The amount will be utilized for the development of the areas around mining excavations. The information was provided at a State-level Monitoring Committee meeting of the Chhattisgarh District Mining Trust Act 2015 presided over by the Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh at his official residence. Sixty per cent of the amount received by the Mining Trust will be spent on the Priority regions.

Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu today gave his consent to construction of 310 km-long Raipur–Baloda Bazar–Jharsuguda as an alternative rail route to Mumbai– Howrah railway route crossing Chhattisgarh.
The chief minister said that the proposed Raipur–Baloda Bazar–Jharsuguda rail line will pass through four districts of the state and create an alternative shorter route for already saturated Mumbai–Howrah route. He added that that it will also provide addition of 100 MMT of freight load envisaged from East Corridor. The alternative route will be constructed through SPV.
Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh has assured farmers of drought-affected areas that State Government is there to support them at every step in this difficult times of natural calamity. He requested farmers to not to panic in this difficult times or take any drastic step like suicide. He said that he himself comes from farmer family, which is why he totally understands and identify with the pain of farmers. State Government will take every possible step to support drought-affected farmers.

Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh, on Friday, flagged off a mobile model of Rain Water Harvesting which would create awareness on this critical issue across the State.
The mobile model would visit urban and rural stretches of chhattisgarh. The model has been prepared by a Bengaluru- based company and enables collection of water accumulated on rooftops and recharges the bore-wells. The-cost of installing this system in home is to the tune of nearly Rs 20000. CM praised the mass awareness campaign and wished success for the endeavor.
