State Government is providing subsidy to fishermen families for construction of their houses under Fishermen Housing Scheme. In the previous financial year 2013-14, houses for nearly 400 fishermen were constructed under this scheme. From year 2005-06 to present, more than a thousand fishermen families have received subsidy for house construction under the scheme. In this financial year, state government has made provision of subsidy for construction of houses for 400 fishermen.
"District Headquarters of all nine newly-formed districts will be adorned with well-equipped stadiums for the convenience and facility of sportspersons there" said Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh while addressing the general meeting of Chhattisgarh Olympic Association that was organized at conference hall of New Circuit House today, after the executive meeting of the association concluded.
Principal Secretary of Urban Administration Department MK Raut, while presiding over the review meeting of Nagar Panchayats of Bilaspur Division organized at New Circuit House Raipur, gave instructions to construct cement concrete roads in the slum areas of the city with priority. In his address to the meeting, he said that approval for road construction work should be given at first for those slum areas, where cc-roads have not been constructed till date.
In the review meeting organized at Chhattisgarh Housing Board (CGHB) Headquarters on Wednesday, it was decided that CGHB will dedicate maximum number of houses constructed under general self-financing schemes for beneficiaries of lower-income group (LIG) and economically weaker section (EWS), as it is done under other housing schemes of Government. This meeting was presided over by CGHB Commissioner Sonmoni Borah.
Hostel buildings will be constructed for 10 government polytechnic colleges in Chhattisgarh. State government has approved the proposals of hostel building construction for the Government Polytechnic Colleges in Korba, Janjgir-Champa, Dhamtari, Durg, Raigarh, Ambikapur, Kabeerdham, Mahasamund, Takhatpur, and Government Girls Polytechnic College in Jagdalpur. State Government has sanctioned Rs 1 crore for construction of each hostel building. Technical Education Department has given the responsibility of the construction work to Chhattisgarh State Housing Board.
State Government have approved Rs 8.47 crores for construction of buildings for five government polytechnic colleges of state. Technical Education Minister Ramvichaar Netam informed today that these polytechnic colleges are situated in District Headquarters Baikunthpur of Koriya, District Headquarters Jashpur, Narainpur, Bijapur and North Bastar (Kanker).
As many as 505 check-dams and 189 ponds have been constructed under Harit Kranti Vistaar Yojana, initiated to enhance paddy production and productivity for extending green revolution in state. Under this scheme started in year 2010-11, Agriculture Department constructed about 129 check-dams and 57 ponds in year 2012-13, 152 check-dams and 32 ponds in year 2011-12, and 224 check-dams and 100 ponds in year 2010-11.
Public Works Department of State Government has undertaken the task of constructing 49 roads of total distance 1,970 kms in leftist extremism affected districts in Chhattisgarh. Under Special Action Plan for construction of these roads, Rs 2,719 crores have been approved. As per the departmental administrative report of last financial year 2012-13, the department has already completed the construction work of 9 roads with expenditure of Rs 199.83 crores.
