Former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi has criticized the death of cows in Balod and termed the silence of the State Government as an attempt to cover up the criminal and inhuman act of the legislator.
The State Urban Administration Minister development projects worth Rs 3 crore for Balod district. The projects include town hall worth Rs 1 crore, road construction Rs 90 lakh, renovation of Gandhi Bhavan Rs 50 lakh, Sulabh Club repairing and Sanjari Club repairing and renovation renovation Rs 25 lakh. The Minister announced this while inaugurating the Rs 1 crore Sarar Commercial Complex in Balod.
The newly-formed Balod district was on the top with 50 medals including 27 gold to its the recently held 11th State Muay-Thai Championship. Raipur district was on the second place with 24 medals which included 12 gold while Bilaspur with 10 gold medal, Bastar with 6 gold and Korba with 4 gold medals were ranked third, fourth and fifth respectively, informed Chhattisgarh Muay0Thai Association Chairman Vijay Agrawal and Deputy Chairman Shabir Memon.
Large number of students turned up at "MATS VIDVAAN-2012" a mega scholarship examination held under joint aegis of the renowned Hindi Daily of Chhattisgarh, Navabharat and Consol India on Sunday. The examination was held on local Saraswati Shishu Mandir school. Enthusiasm among the examinees was at peak. Interestingly, many students who had not applied for the examination also turned up at the venue, but they had to go back empty handed. The examinees. were in two folds as compared to last year's figure.
State Government has posted officials to Employment and Self-Employment Guidance Centers (ESEGC)in the nine newly constituted district for the convenience of unemployment youth in these areas. Technical Education Department of the State has posted the officials of Directorate of Employment and Training to these positions. According to the order released from Secretariat issued on behalf of the Department, A O Lari serving as Deputy Director of ESEGC at Jagdalpur, has been posted to Sukma.
Saying that geography of Chhattisgarh has changed from January 1, Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh said that the journey of Chhattisgarh's development began with 16 districts, then Narayanpur and Bijapur were constituted in 2007 and now nine new districts, have been added taking number of districts to 27. We want district administration to reach to far-fledged areas of Chhattisgarh, so that everyone could get more and more facilities while the Government could save time and money.
Senior Congress leader Ajit Jogi said Friday that three people had died and over 100 people were blinded in Chhattisgarh after being operated upon at government-run eye operation camps in recent months.
"It's shocking that over 100 people were blinded and three people died after they were operated upon for cataract at government eye camps in various districts in recent months," Jogi, a former chief minister, said in a statement.
Nine more districts came into existence in Chhattisgarh on Sunday, taking the total number to 27, chief minister Raman Singh said.
The new districts, a new year gift to people, were carved out to speed up the pace of development, Singh said while talking to reporters here.
The new districts are Sukma, Kondagaon, Balod, Bemetara, Baloda Bazar, Gariaband, Mungeli, Surajpur and Balrampur.
Sukma district has been carved out of the state's worst Maoist affected Dantewada district and Kondagaon from the insurgency-hit Bastar district.
