Mainpat Carnival 2015 :-

Various colourful cultural programmes will mark the three-day Mainpat Carnival. District Administration Sarguja has finalized 'global theme' for first day of Mainpat Carnival on February 13, 'Chhattisgarhi theme' for second day on February 14, and 'Indian theme' for the cultural programmes to be staged on concluding day on February 15.

On the inaugural day of three-day Maipat Carnival, stand-up comedian Shrikanth Maski will perform and cultural programmes based on Korean Fan, African Rumba, Arabian Turkish, Japanese dance, Hiphop, Bubble Ukraine and Tibetan dance will be staged. On February 14, Bhojpuri Singer Arya Nandini will perform and Cultural Programmes based on Manjhi, Sua, Sambalpuri, Karma and Nagpuriya Folk Dances will be staged. Likewise, Saregama Little Champ fame Tanmay Chaturvedi will perform and stage performances like Laavni, Rajasthani Dance, Kallari puppet dance, Romi Classical, Chandalika dance will take place on the concluding day of the event.

The event will be inaugurated by Home, Jail and Public Health Engineering Minister Mr Ramsevak Paikra on February 13 6.30 pm. Inaugural programme will be presided over by MP Mr. Kamalbhan Singh. Leader of Opposition in Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha Mr. TS Singhdeo, Sitapur MLA Mr. Amarjeet Bhagat, Lundra MLA Mr. Chintamani Maharaj and Handicraft Development Corporation Ex-Chairman Mr. Anil Singh Major will be the special guests of the inaugural programme. Chief Guest of the concluding ceremony will be Home, Jail, PHE Minister Mr. Ramsevak Paikra, while the programme will be presided over by Leader of Opposition Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha TS Singhdeo. Special Guests of the occasion will be Sitapur MLA Mr. Amarjeet Bhagat, Lundra MLA Mr. Chintamani Maharaj, Municipal Corporation Ambikapur Mayor Dr Ajay Tirkey, Ex-Chairman Handicraft Development Corporation Mr. Anil Singh Major, Commissioner of Sarguja Division Mr. TC Mahavar and Inspector General Sarguja Range Mr. TJ Langkumer.
