Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh will launch much awaited free distribution of sarees to 12.55 lakh women working in tendu patta collection from August 7. The function will kick off from Kanker organised by State Primary Forest Produce Cooperative Societies. According to information during the function Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh will also announce 92 new projects worth Rs 34.70 crore in the district.

Free Generic Medicines to be available in all Hospitals of State from August 15

Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today reviewed the action plan to ensure availability of free of cost generic medicines in district hospitals and nearly 155 community health centres of all 27 districts. Chief Minister instructed the officials concerned to complete all the preparations at earliest so that this scheme can be inaugurated on the occasion of Independence Day i.e. on 15 August. Chief Minister said that in the first phase, this scheme of ensuring availability and supply of free generic medicines will be initiated in district hospitals and community health centres.

SC/ST students to be distributed free textbooks in colleges

Higher Education Minister Ramvichaar Netam informed today that in the current financial year 2013-14, the students of scheduled caste and scheduled tribe category in all government colleges of state will be provided free of cost text books and stationery. For this, Rs 1.40 crores have been provisioned in the budget. In the last academic session also, provision of Rs 1.40 crores was made for distribution of textbooks to students of this category.

Free PMT-PET Coaching For Meritorious Students

Chief Minister Dr Raman met the meritorious students, who have secured more than 70 per cent in 12th board exam and have been facilitated with PET-PMT coaching by District Administration at District Headquarters Mahasamund, today during his visit to Mahasamund district under Vikas Yatra. District Administration has selected total 170 meritorious students of SC/ST/OBC/General category from various development blocks of Mahasamund district and has arranged for free coaching for competitive exams of PET and PMT at Kendriya Vidyalay, Mahasamund.

Free of cost laptop distribution programme organized at a private engineering college campus of District Headquarters Durg, under Chhattisgarh Yuva Soochna Kranti, was inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today in the afternoon. In the programme, 5537 final year students of 16 different engineering colleges in the district were to be distributed laptops for free.

Distribution of free-hold forms are underway in various colonies of Chhattisgarh Housing Board's Divisional Headquarters. In the same sequence, a free-hold form distribution camp was also held at Daundekhurd Colony, under Division-3 Maulshri Vihaar Raipur.
