Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi today honoured Chhattisgarh State by giving 'E-Panchayat' National Award. Chhattisgarh State Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Mr. Ajay Chandrakar received the prestigious award on behalf of the State at Vignan Bhawan in New Delhi.
Dantewada Krishi Vigyan Kendra of Chhattisgarh has been selected as the Best Kendra for National Award by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research New Delhi. The Naxalites-affected South Bastar (Dantewada) district farmers are into organic farming, drip irrigation system is in vogue and high technology has helped the farming community a lot. It is interesting to note that Krishi Vigyan Kendra has introduced the farmers to this methods which are appreciated by the powers that be in New Delhi.

Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh has announced to establish a new National-level award in memory of renowned litterateur and 'Janak' of journalism in Chhattisgarh Late Madhav Rao Sapre. In a press communique issued on the eve of Late Sapre's birth anniversary, Dr. Singh made the award would be given to such a personality, who has creatively contributed in the development of nationalism through the mass communication mediums in Hindi Language.
Chhattisgarh has been selected for the prestigious national award for the second consecutive year for better implementation of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) in the state. North Bastar’s Kanker district and ‘Gatapara’ gram panchayat of Rajnandgaon district have been chosen for exemplary performance in implementing MNREGA in the last fiscal 2011-12.
