Chhattisgarh has bagged two national awards in information technology sector. Computer Society of India (CSI) Nihilent has conferred award on Chhattisgarh for sustained excellence in IT sector and has also bestowed Sustenance Award in project category for geographical information system (GIS) operated by Chhattisgarh InfoTech and Biotech Promotion Society (CHiPS).
Chhattisgarh was today conferred with the prestigious national award in five categories for successful implementation of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). It is for the third consecutive year that the state has received the award. Chhattisgarh received the first prize in convergence category for the year 2012-13. The state has also been chosen for effective initiative towards sustainable livelihood.
Chhattisgarh will be bestowed upon with three National Awards on February 2, the establishment day of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGS), at a glittering function which will be held at Vihgyan Bhawan in new Delhi. Of the three, one Award has been announced for the state while the other two Awards will be given to Rajnandgaon district and village panchayat Kharthuli in Balod district. The Chief Minister has extended his best wishes and heartiest congratulations to the people for the achievements.
Eight Panchayati Raj institutions from Chhattisgarh were awarded National Awards on the occasion of National Panchayat Day at a glittering function held at Vighyan Bhavan in New Delhi. Surguja Jila Panchayat was adjudged as the best District Panchayat in the Country and was awarded first prize.
Tata Steel bagged the 'Best sports Advertisement' and 'Best Corporate Involvements in Sports' awards at the grand finale of a national news channel's 'Marks for Sports' awards ceremony held at New Delhi on recently. Vice President of Corporate Services, Tata Steel Sanjay Paul received the awards on behalf of the company from India's tennis legend Leander Paes and Director General, Sports Authority of India Desh Deepak Verma.
