Governor Tandon extends congratulations for National Literacy Award to Chhattisgarh

Governor Shri Balramji Das Tandon has expressed pleasure that Sakshar Bharat Literacy Award has been conferred upon Rajnandgaon district and three Gram Panchayats of state at hands of President Shri Pranab Mukherjee at the function organized at New Delhi on the occasion of International Literacy Day. Governor Tandon has extended hearty congratulations to people of Rajnandgaon district and Gram Panchayats Litiya, Banjaridand and Devgarh for the achievement.

3 Gram Panchayat Get National Award at the hands of President of India Pranab Mukherjee in New Delhi.

Three Gram Panchayats of Chhattisgarh have been felicitated with national award for the fourth consecutive year in the field of literacy at the hands of President of India Pranab Mukherjee in New Delhi. The state has earlier received national awards in 2011, 2012 and 2013. In the programme organised at New Delhi, the President of India presented `Sakshar Bharat Award' to entire Rajnandgaon district apart from three gram panchayats of Rajnandgaon district viz. village panchayat Litiya and two gram panchayats of Koriya district viz. Banjaridhand and Devgarh.

Chhattisgarh today received the prestigious National Literacy Awards for attaining remarkable achievements in the field of literacy. Chhattisgarh has been awarded in the state category for successful implementation of ‘Sakshar Bharat Mission’ in 23 out of 27 districts of the state. Beside, Korea district and Patna gram panchayat of Baikunthpur block of the state have also been awarded in district and gram panchayat categories.
