Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh on Sunday dedicated the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel wholesale market annex at Dumartarai within the Raipur Municipal Corporation limits. Asserting that whenever there is development of business and trading in a state, it generates revenue, the Chief Minister said this helps in accumulation of resources for the development of state and upliftment of people. He added that the people from commerce and industries have played a significant role in the development of Chhattisgarh's economy. These views were observed by Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh while addressing the people and business fraternity after inaugurating the new Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel wholesale market annex at Dumanarai spread over 6.06 hectares area. The wholesale market which has been named after first Home Minister of India who was also known as 'Iron Man', has been constructed at a cost of Rs 29 crore jointly by Chhattisgarh Housing Board and Raipur Municipal Corporation. In the first phase 185 shops has been constructed, of which, registry of 177 shops has already been done. Members of altogether seven traders association including Banal Vyapari Sangh. Gole Bazaar Vyapari Sangh has been allocated shops in the new annex.
