RMC gets 65 new City buses

The Union Ministry of Urban Development, through an order dated May 22, 2012, has re-allotted 65 mini city buses to the Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM). Allotment of these 65 mini city buses to RMC was cancelled, and given to NRDA in the meeting of CSMC held on February 10, 2012.

State may get toll-free no. curb financial irregularities

Reserve Bank of India would seriously consider on the suggestion regarding initiating of toll-free number based call center for the benefit of common people, said R Ravikumar, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India (MP-Chhattisgarh). He also stated that very soon a massive public awareness campaign would be initiated with the assistance of State Governments for making aware the common people about the fake chit-fund and illegitimate financial companies.

Mana's now Swami Vivekananda Airport

It is now official that Mana Airport would be know as Swami Vivekananda Airport, an order to this effect has been released by the state government on Friday. The State government order reads that the Ministry of Civil Aviation, New Delhi in its gazette notification published on February 2012 mentioned that the Mana Airport would be named as Swami Vivekananda Airport.

9 State coal blocks to be auctioned

Perturbed with the allegations of irregularities in the allocation of coal blocks, the Union Coal Ministry has now decided to allot 54 coal blocks from all over the country through auction. Nine coal blocks of these 54, are in Chhattisgarh. The process for the same would be completed in this month. Allegations and counter allegations between Congress and Bhartiya Janata Party on the irregularities in the allotment of coal blocks are going on. The basic being the CAG Report, which revealed a loss of Rs 1,80,000 crore.

'Nidaan' service receives huge calls

'Nidaan', the toll-free number started on the initiative of Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh to resolve the complaints of people related to the ten Municipal Corporations in the State is receiving a number of calls. The toll-free number 1100 can be dialed to register complaints of any municipal corporations regarding drinking water, street light and sanitation and cleanliness.

The members of Sewa Welfare foundation (SWF) disseminated old clothes at leprous' colony, located in Mowa. President, SWF Lion JS Thakur,Programme Director KL Sahu, BS Grewal and DL Agrawal addressed the gathering and assured people to extend all kinds of possible help. Observers appointed for Panchayat by-elections

The Chhattisgarh State Election Commission is conducting by-election in three-tier Panchati Raj institutions in the State. They will also be conducting by-elections to fill vacant posts in two municipalities. The State election Commission has appointed 14 Observers for the smooth conduct of by-elections in Panchayat and four Observers in Municipalities.

Huge response to Bharat bandh in State

Bharat Bandh called by Bhartiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance combine supported by Communist Party of India, Samajwadi Party and others, evoked mega response in the State and all establishments, transports, shops in Capital Raipur as well as in 27 district head-quarters were closed. Roads wore a deserted look. However, barring minor incidents of varbal duals and scuffles no major incidents of violence were reported from all over the State.

Chhattisgarh Plan for 2012-13 worth Rs 23,480 crore finalised

Chhattisgarh State gets to see a jump of almost 7000 crore as the Annual Plan for the State for the year 2012-13 gets approved at Rs 23,480 crore. The Plan for Chhattisgarh was finalised after a meeting between Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh at Planning Commission in New Delhi on Thursday.

CM to attend plan panel meet today in New Delhi

Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh will be leaving for the New Delhi to participate in a Planning Commissions meeting on Thursday. As per schedule, the Chief Minister will leave Raipur at 9.30 am on Thursday by regular flight and reach New Delhi at 11.10 am. The Planning Commission's building at 3 pm. The Chief Minister will return Raipur on Friday at 6.30 pm. Due to his New Delhi trip, the 'Jandarshan' programme on Thursday has been cancelled.
