Prime Minister Narendra Modi today honoured Chhattisgarh’s Tanuja Raichuria for her exemplary work in ‘Digital India’ initiative. The prime minister awarded her with a laptop and a citation at the launch of Digital India week here at Indra Gandhi Indoor Stadium. Raichuria was awarded for providing various digital facilities to villagers through an ICT enabled Common Service Center (CSC) in Dhamtari and enrolling workers under Digital Saksharta Abhiyan (DISHA). Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh congratulated Raichuria for this achievement.

Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh on Tuesday dedicated State's biggest public 'Central Park' to the people on a function held at Naya Raipur. During the function chief minister made announcement that two features will be added in the park which includes Butterfly Park and Bird Park for education children about animals.

Attractive package for police force in Naxalites'-hit regions: CM Dr. Raman Singh

Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh presided over the Cabinet meeting in which several important decisions were taken today. The Cabinet has decided to give an attractive monetary package to the police force, assistant constables (formerly S.P.Os) and intelligence gathering jawans. There is a substantial increase in the benefits. Dr.b Raman Singh said that 22 thousand police jawans will be benefited with the proposals. This includes 11 thousand regular constables. The expenditure involved is Rs 121 crore for the state Government.

'Child Helpline' booth inaugurated

Women and Child Welfare Development Minister Mrs. Ramsheela Sahu today inaugurated 'Child Helpline' booth at the Raipur railway station platform number-1. She instructed the staff on duty to be vigilant throughout. The booth will keep track of the missing children. The authorities are keen on rehabilitating the children into the mainstream of life. Mrs. Sahu said that the Women and Child Welfare Department and the Police Department will work together to trace the missing children and provide them with security.

Fish seeds' production to be completed soon


The fish seeds' production had been increased and speeded up in 64 hatcheries and 57 fish farms to make it available to the fish farmers in Chhattisgarh soon. The State Fisheries' Department has fixed a target of 598 crore 'Spaan' production this year. About 149 crore Standard Fry fish seeds will be produced from the 'Spaan'. This includes Katla, Rohu and Mrugal species fish seed.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today lauded the efforts of Chhattisgarh government in eliminating the practice of open defecation from the state. Speaking at the launch of Smart Cities Mission and AMRUT Mission here at Vigyan Bhawan, the prime minister said Chhattisgarh, which is fighting Maoist menace, was making an all out effort to make the state free from open defecation. He said that the state government has done a commendable work by ensuring that each and every house in the state gets a toilet and sought replication of best practices from across the country.
