Agriculture Minister Mr. Brijmohan Agrawal said that development of villages, poor and farmers is the chief objective of Lok Suraaj. Development of farmers and labourers leads to progress of the villages, and progress of villages is the true progress of the state and the nation as a whole. Minister AGrawal said that Chhattisgarh is the first state of the country, where state government visits villages and cities of the state to evaluate implementation of public welfare schemes and to check the ground reality of development works. Minister AGrawal was addressing people in Lok Suraaj programme held at Pondi and Jhalmala village of Balod development block. On the occasion, Jila Panchayat President Mr. Devlal Thakur, Gunderdehi MLA Mr. Rajendra Rai, Collector Mr. Narendra Shukla, SP Mr. Arif Shiekh along with other public representatives, officials, employees and a large number of people were also present.
Minister Mr. Agrawal said that State Government is conducting various works of public welfare including drinking water supply, education, health, electricity, road construction. He said that earlier farmers were given agriculture loan at interest rate of 18 per cent, but now state government provides interest free agriculture loan to farmers. He appealed farmers to make most of the government's public welfare scheme. He suggested farmers to practice animal husbandry, fishery, poultry farming, pulses and oilseed cultivation, vegetable farming etc for extra income. He motivated people to build toilets in each home and use it, and also to take pregnant women for institutional delivery in health centers. Minister Agrawal gave patient hearing to grievances of people and redressed many of them on spot.
