HC dismisses Sai's plea seeking disqualification of 12 Congress MLAs

The Chhattisgarh High Court dismissed the petition filed by the then Leader of Opposition and senior BJP Leader Nandkumar Sai disqualification of 12 Congress party legislatures from the Chhattisgarh State Assembly, on Monday. On a previous day hearing, the Court had reserved its verdict after hearing the counsels of Sai and the allegedly defected former MLAs. It may be recalled that immediately of formation of the Chhattisgarh, a new Assembly was also constituted to run the affairs of the newly formed State.

Chhattisgarh Assembly budget session likely

The Budget Session (12th Session of Third Assembly) is likely to begin from February 18
and continue till March 22. During the session, there will be total 22 meetings. Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh, who also holds the Finance portfolio, is likely to table the General Budget proposals (demand proposals) for the financial year 2013-14 on February 27. It is being stated that the cumulative size of the budget proposals would be around or more than Rs 45,000 crore, the largest up till now.

NMDC steel plant to get water from Indravati, Sabari rivers

Housing and Environment Minister Rajesh Munat informed the house that NMDC steel Plant, which is coming-up in Nagarnar, requires 6,000 cusec meter water during construction and while in operation the plant will need 147120 cusec meter water per day. The water will be supplied by through the pipline from Indravati and Sabri Rivers.
