VC's CSP now in search of new President

The Chhattisgarh Sangharsh Parishad (CSP) belonging to former Union Minister Vidya Charan Shukla is now in search of new President. On health grounds, the existing President Dau Santosh Agrawal has tendered his resignation. For the new post of President CSP the names of Prabhunath Mishra, Vijay Pandey and Narendra Tiwari are very much in the list. It is keeping in mind the 2013 Vidhan Sabha elections, VC Shukla is once again planning to resurrect his Chhattisgarh Sangharsh Parishad.

Strengthening the ground level activities of the members have alleged step-motherly treatment by the ruling State Government towards civic bodies ruled by the party. The party in the meeting here on Friday, flayed the ruling BJP Party Government for making deliberate efforts to tarnish the image of Congress ruled civic bodies in State.

Nand Kumar Patel, president Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) convened a meeting with the Congressmen at Congress Bhavan on Wednesday. General Secretaries Subhash Sharma and Arun Vora, MLA Bhajan Singh Nirankari, Deepak Dube, Mahesh Yadav, Rauf Quereshi, PCC Secretary Siju Anthony, Corporators of Durg City and Presidents Block Congress Committee were present on the occasion. Nand Kumar Patel said Corporators, shadow Corporators and Block Presidents should mutually Coordinate to strengthen the party organization.

Cong to hold meet of civic bodies’ representatives today

To evaluate performance and to strengthen their ground level party activities, Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee will be hold crucial meeting of civic bodies’ representatives on Friday at the party office. CPCC Pri sident Nand Kumar Patel and Leader of Opposition Ravindra Choubey will be also present at the occasion.

BJP State President thanks Center for Honouring Surguja as best district

Welcoming the inclusion of Surguja district among the six best performing districts in the country for better implementation of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGS), Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) State President Ramsewak Paikra has expressed his gratitude and thanked the Union Government for awarding Surguja district for the same. Paikra while issuing his statement in this regard said that the award being given to the Surguja district by the Central Government has put the State Congress in a predicament.

'Govt to constitute separate Directorate for Panchayats'

The State Government is going to constitute a separate Directorate for the Panchayats in the State. At present, there is a joint Directorate of Panchayat and Social Welfare Department. Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh gave principle agreement in this regard during a meeting on Monday. Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh said that with the implementation of Panchayati Raj Act, activities of Panchayat sector have increased and Panchyats have become stronger.

In an unusual step, Chhattisgarh government has requested the Supreme Court to reconsider its two-year-old judgment giving relief to RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his wife Rabri Devi in a disproportionate assets (DA) case, in which it had held that the state government had no role to file appeal in a case investigated by the CBI.

BJP govt in Chhattisgarh a puppet in industrialists' hands

The Opposition Congress in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday alleged that the BJP-led government has joined hands with the industry "to forcibly acquire lands owned by the tribal people."

"The BJP government has become a puppet in the hands of industrialists," Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CPCC) spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla alleged.

He further alleged that KSK Mahanadi Power Company has set its eyes on the pieces of land owned by tribals in the region.
