BJP celebrates foundation day

A 32nd Foundation day of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) was recently celebrated by the members of party in Ekatma Parisar situated at Rajbandha maidan. On the occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh and Party State President Ram Sevak Paikra congratulated the members of BJP . The function was started after offering floral tributes in the portraits of Bharat Mata, Dr. Shyamaprasad Mukherjee and Pandit Din Dayal Upadhaya. Mean while , the senior members of party were felicitated by the Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh and State President of party Ramsevak Paikra during the function.

Jashpur District Cong Committee formed

The Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee has constituted new executive committee of Jashpur District Congress Committee here on Friday. The decision was taken by CPCC President Nand Kumar Patel after having consultation with other senior party leaders. The newly-elected executive members are as following, President -Arti Singh. Vice-presidents- Suresh Kumar Jain , Paras Gupta, Dr. P C Kajur and Shivprassad Paikra. General Secretaries- Vhamdev Pandey, Gori Shankar Agrawal , A Tripathi and Ratna Paikra. Treasurer- Gajendra Jain.

To make foolproof arrangement for the forthcoming State-wide agitationon April 13, Chhattisgarh pradesh Congress Committee President nand kumar Patel has conveyed meeting of all district Presidents on penultimate day here. CPCC President informed that the meeting has been called to review the arrangements for the Congress will highlight promises made by ruling BJP Government in their much-hyped 'Gram Suraj Abhiyan'. The main Opposition members will visit each and every block in villages to make the masses aware about promises not fulfilled by the Dr. Raman Singh Government.

Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) minority cell will launch a membership campaign within the State on BJP's foundation day April 6. Minority Cell State President Ejaz Beig announced the names of In-charge who will carry out the campaign in their respective areas.

CAG showed loss even before production starts,asks Agrawal

Clarifying the stand of Chhattisgarh Mineral Development Corporation (CMDC) on the allotment of coal blocks in Bhatgaon-2 and Bhatgon-2 Extension, wherein, Comptroller and Auditor General of India had pointed out that acceptance of lower rates for commercial mining of Coal Block by CMDC had led to potential loss of revenue, Gourishankar Agrawal, Chairman, CMDC said that it is hypothetical on the part of CAG to make such a comment because accounting of loss or profit can be done only after production starts from the allotted coal blocks.

After grilling the ruling party in the House over Comptroller and Audit Gerenral (CAG) report, main Opposition Congress is continuing its attack even outside, with Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee President Nand Kumar Patel alleging State Government of malfunctioning and corruption. It may be recalled that Congress on the last day of House, cornered the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) over a report of CAGpointing to lapses that had let to huge revenue losses.

State Budget Session adjourned sine die

The Ninth Session (Budget Session) of Chhattisgarh's third legislative Assembly was adjourned sine-die nine days earlier on April 4. Five more meetings were to be held during this session, but since the House was adjourned earlier, these meetings will not be held. The House will meet again during Monsoon Session, which might be held during the first-second week of July.

Govt signs 59 MoU for establishment of power plants

In Span five years the ruling Government has signed 59 Memorandum of Understanding for the establishment of power plants in the State. This information was given by Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh in the House here on Tuesday. Replying to the question raised by Congress MLA Dr. Premsahya Singh, Chief Minister said that till 7th February 2012, the State Government has signed total 59 power plants in the State. This includes MoU of 23 Super Critical Thermal Power Plants and rest thermal power plants.
