राज्य शासन द्वारा मंत्रालय स्थित चिकित्सा शिक्षा विभाग द्वारा आदेश जारी कर छत्तीसगढ़ आयुर्विज्ञान संस्थान (सिम्स) बिलासपुर के अधिष्ठाता डॉ. विष्णु दत्त को तत्काल प्रभाव से निलंबित कर दिया गया है। निलंबन अवधि में उनका मुख्यालय स्वर्गीय श्री बलीराम कश्यप स्मृति चिकित्सा महाविद्यालय जगदलपुर रहेगा।

Chhattisgarh has bagged two national awards in information technology sector. Computer Society of India (CSI) Nihilent has conferred award on Chhattisgarh for sustained excellence in IT sector and has also bestowed Sustenance Award in project category for geographical information system (GIS) operated by Chhattisgarh InfoTech and Biotech Promotion Society (CHiPS).

On the second day 'Eco Bal Mela', children visited Chhattisgarh Science Center and gathered knowledge regarding various science inventions at the center. The three day event will conclude on Friday and Housing and Environment Minister Rajesh Munat will be the chief guest at the occasion. During the visit at the center, children participating from Dantewada, Jagdalpur, Jaspur, Koriya, Ambikapur, Raigarh, Saraipali and Basena were briefed about various inventions by center Director Dr. PK Bhatt.

Two More Science Centers to be Established in Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh Regional Science Center Society associated with Science and Technology Department of State Government will establish two B-grade science centers, each over 5 acres of land, in revenue divisions- Sarguja and Bastar. Presently, Chhattisgarh Regional Science Center Society has sent letters to Collectors of both the districts, requesting allotment of land for science centers. Estimated expenditure for establishing each of the science centers is Rs 4 crores.

Science Development Center to Start in Durg Soon

The State Government would soon start a 500-seater Science Development Center cum hostel in Durg district for girl of Naxal-affected areas of Chhattisgarh. According to Scheduled Caste Development Minister Kedar Kashyap the success of 'Prayaas', a State Government venture to prepare students from tribal and Naxal-hit areas for the various competitive examinations, had prompted the State Government to open the science center in the line of 'Prayaas '.

City scientist duo chair national symposium

The head of the animal nutrition department at the Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Dr S S Sikka and a professor from the same unit Dr M S Pannu, attended a national symposium on the significance of Veterinary nutrition. The event was organised by the Indian Academy of Veterinary Nutrition and held in Anjora, Chhattisgarh.

Dr Sikka besides chairing the technical session on “Feed Resource and Supplements” also acted as panellist in “Scientist Farmers Interaction meet session”.

Use solar energy to Charge Mobile

Raipur: There are more than 500 villages in Chhattisgarh which are not connected to the power grid inspite of being under mobile network coverage. People living in these areas often have to travel for 10-15 kilometres daily for charging their mobile phones.

Chief Minister Dr.Raman Singh inaugurated a solar powered mobile charging unit at his residence which is capable of charging 10 mobile handsets at a time. The state government is planning to install 50 such units in various remote regions of Chhattisgarh.
