Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh greeted Chhattisgar State Cricket Sangh (CSCS) and sports lovers of the state on the achievement CSCS in the form BCCI permanent membership. The chief minister told the working committee members, who led by the CSCS president Baldeo Singh Bhatia met him at his officials residence, that the efforts of CSCS officials and people's love for game earned a permanent berth in the BCCI.
Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh inaugurated tennis complex in Bhilai Nagar and declared the tennis tournament open. He interacted with the players and wished them well. On the occasion, Higher Education and Technical Education Minister Mr. Premprakash Pandey, Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Labhchand Bafna, Chhattisgarh Tennis Association Chairman Mr. Vikram Sisodia and other prominent citizens were also present.

In this tournament organized at Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel International Hockey Stadium of capital city Raipur, Australian team won the match against Belgium by 2-1. Belgium bagged silver medal in the tournament while India clinched bronze medal after beating Netherland team. Chairman of World Hockey Federation Mr. Leonardo Negri today paid courtesy call on Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh at his residence. He praised the arrangements made by State Government for Word League Final 2015, organized for the first time in Raipur. Mr. Negri said that Vallabh Bhai Patel International Hockey Stadium is equipped with better infrastructure and administration is very cooperative in organizing sports events. Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh today morning inaugurated Gondwana Cup International Tennis Tournament at capital city Raipur. This tournament will be held from today 23 November to 26 November at VIP Club of Raipur. Around 32 national-international players are participating in this first Future Men's International Tournament of Lawn Tennis to be held in Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh has got a new identity in country and abroad by hosting Gondwana Cup regularly.
School Education and Adivasi Development Minister Mr. Kedar Kashyap today inaugurated the 15th State-level Inter-Schools' Sports' Competition and attended the march-past of the school children. The sports' meet will last for four days. About 1050 sports persons are participating in various disciplines. Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Ambesh Jangde, School Education Department Secretary Mr. Subrat Sahu and International Hockey player Ms Neeta Dumre were among the large gathering present. The sports event is being organised by the School Education Department.
Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today chaired the meeting of executive committee of Chhattisgarh Olympic Association, and took several important decisions regarding development of sports in state and also about the arrangements to be made for 37th National Games. Dr Raman Singh said in the meeting that sports talents of state, who have won medals for Chhattisgarh in past or who have missed the medal with narrow margin, should be polished into international-level sports persons.
The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has announced that the 2015 Men's Hockey World League Final will be hosted between 27 November and 6 December 2015 at Raipur Chhattisgarh. The event will be held at Raipur International Hockey Stadium. The Hockey stadium was dedicated to Hockey in August 2014.
The event will feature eight national Hockey teams: Australia, Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Great Britain, Argentina, host India and Canada. This will be the first International Hockey event to be staged in Chhattisgarh.
Governor Mr. Balramji Das Tandon today met Asian One-Legged (Langdi) Championship 2015 winner Mr. Danish Khan at Raj Bhawan. Chhattisgarh Langdi Association Secretary Mr. Mohan Kumar was also present. Governor Mr. Tandon congratulated the winner and wished that in future also he will bring more laurels to the State.
It may be mentioned here that Mr. Danish Khan was the lone player from Chhattisgarh who participated in the Asian Championship in Thailand. He was a member of the Indian Team. Players from six nations participated in the Championship and Indian Team won the Gold Medal.
