IN A major success for Chhattisgarh police, top three ultras carrying a reward of Rs 1 Lakh on their heads police in insurgency-hit Kondagaon district.
“The cadres, who surrendered, said they were frustrated with the high handedness of senior cadres and exploitation by them of lower rank rebels,” police said. They were involved in several incidents of crime including blast incidents, damaging government properties, torching vehicle engaged in road construction, loot, attack on police party and others, the police added. Those surrendered before superintendent of police (SP) JS Vatti and Additional SP (ops) Maheshwar Nag And ASP Nivedita Sharma were members of kiskodo Local operating Squad (LOS) active in Eragaon under Dhanora police station limits. The surrendered Maoists cadres were involved in attack on Police party at Village Haatchapai along With Kiskodo LOS Commander Phool Singh in the year 2005. They were also involved in setting tendu leaves on fire in Village Eragaon and damaging of school building in Village kongud in the year 2005.
