Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh attended Chitranshotsav Sneh Sammelan, Pujan Shobha Yatra, and cultural programme organized at Shaheed Smarak Bhavan yesterday evening, on the occasion of Shri Chitragupta Jayanti. Chief Minister extended hearty wishes to people on the occasion of Chitragupta Jayanti. In the programme, Vidhan Sabha Speaker Mr. Gaurishankar Agrawal, Raipur Development Authority Chairman Mr. Sanjay Shrivastava and other prominent citizens were also present.
Chief Minister said that such social gatherings strengthen social unity. Chitragupta community is an educated community that has given a new thought and direction to the country and the world. Great personalities from this community namely Swami Vivekananda and Arvind Ghosh introduced vedic culture to the world. Vivekananda Ji had spent two years of his teenage in Raipur. Chief Minister also commemorated the contribution of late Shri Jyoti Basu, Shri Bal Thakre, and Litterateur Shri Padumlal Punnalal Bakshi. Dr Singh appealed people of the community to utilize their education for progress of community and the country. On the occasion, Chief Minister felicitated Bravery Award winner Yuktarth Shrivastava, a resident of Rajnandgaon who had received 'Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak' in the age of six years. Chief Minister gave away certificates to the participants of cultural programmes and competitions. He also released 'Chitranshotsav' souvenir published by the community. Vidhan Sabha Speaker Mr. Gaurishankar Agarwal also addressed the programme. Welcome speech was given by RDA Chairman Mr. Sanjay Shrivastav. On the occasion, renowned comedian from Mumbai Mr. Rajeev Nigam, and Mr. RP Shrivastava, Mr. Sudeep Khare, Mr. Rajendra Shrivastava, Mr. Manjul Shrivastava, Mr. Vaibhav Shrivastava, Mr. Pradeep Verma, Mrs. Usha Ranjan Shrivastava, Prof Sandhya Verma, Dr Seema Shrivastava, Mrs. Ritu Verma, Mrs. Amrita Shrivastava, Mrs. Mangla Shrivastava and other members of the community were also present.
