Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Dr. Raman Singh today inaugurated the three-day Raipur Literature Fest at Purkhauti Muktangan, a major centre of cultural heritage in state. In his address to the litterateurs from various states of the country including Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister said that literature is unimportant medium of expression for human thoughts. Point of views may differ, but this difference in perspectives gives birth to new thoughts. New creative thoughts should always be welcomed, even if it is about disagreement or protest.
Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh reiterated that development of tribal areas and farmers is among-st the top priorities of the state government. He made this assertion while chairing the first meeting of reconstituted Planning Commission at his residence. Dr. Singh noted that planning commission must evolve schemes keeping in view the ground realities of the area apart from practical difficulties. He also announced constituting of task forces under the subject experts who are part of Planning Commission.

The Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh will inaugurate the three-day Raipur Sahitya Mahotsav on December 12 at Purkhoti Muktangan. The Minister for Culture and Tourism Ajay Chandrakar will chair it and LS MP Ramesh Bais and MLA Abhanpur Dhanendra Sahu will be the special guest.

The Chief Minister gave them a courteous welcomes and informed them about the different characters of the state and major public welfare schemes being implemented here. Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand on Thursday chaired a meeting of the In-Charge Secretaries of different districts and reviewed the progress with implementation of different programmes in the districts. After discussions with the secretaries on Pradhan Mantri Jandhan Yojana, distribution of Aadhar Cards, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, construction of toilets in schools, drinking water arrangements, functioning of Anganwadi Centres and other programmes, Dhand gave necessary directives to them.
Governor Balramji Das Tandon today presided over the State Award and Investiture Ceremony of Scouts & Guide of India, Chhattisgarh, at Rajbhavan. In the ceremony, nearly 350 scouts, guides, rovers, rangers and excellent scouter and guider were awarded with certificates and medals in the State Award Examination Camp of year 2104-15. On the occasion, Principal Secretary to Governor Sunil Kujur, Acting Chairman Rajesh Agrawal and State Chief Commissioner G Swami were also present.
Around 150 girl students of Bijapur Districtpaid courtesy visit to Governor Balramji Das Tandon here on Monday. MLA from Bijapur Mahesh Gagda was also present on the occasion. The girls studying in classes VI to VIII, during the course of their visit also visited the Darbar Hall.

Thomas L Vajda, US Consul General in Mumbai, paid a courtesy visit to Governor Balramji Das Tandon at Raj Bhawan On Tuesday. Consul General Thomas L Vajda is on a two day visit to Chhattisgarh. During interaction, the Governor informed that there is favorable environment for industrial investment in the State. He said skilled workers, land, energy, water, etc is available in the state with abundance of resources like coal, iron-ore, tin, limestone, dolomite and bauxite.
The US Consul General Thomas Vajda said that many a prominent American companies are very much influenced by possibilities of good investment in Chhattisgarh and are also keen to hold round-table conference with CM Dr. Raman Singh. Thomas met the Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh at his Official residence here on Tuesday evening. He gave information to CM that he would be invited to Mumbai for this conference in the near future. CM expressed gratitude for the same and apprised him about the global in vestors meet to be organised by the state government in coming January-February.
