Chhattisgarh State Information Commissioner Serjius Minj conceded on Tuesday that more awareness on the issue of Right to Information (RTI) is required. he said that masses need to be made more aware to ensure that RTI Act fulfills its objectives. Minj was addressing a one-day workshop organised in Chhattisgarh State Administration Academy on the relevant topic of 'Self Declaration by Public Information Officers under RTI-2005'.

Several decisions were taken at the meeting of the Chhattisgarh Cabinet held on Tuesday at Mahanadi Bhawan. Union Minister for Agriculture Sharad Pawar has announced that Chhattisgarh will be conferred upon the prestigious National Krishi Karman Award of Union Government for the highest production of paddy (rice). In year 2010-11, Chhattisgarh was adorned with this award for production of about 61.59 lakh metric ton of paddy.
