Festival holidays, vacation periods declared

Government of Chhattisgarh School Education department

Chhattisgarh School Education department has declared the dates and period of Dussehra-Diwali, Winter and Summer vacations for the academic year 2012-13. Accordingly, the Dussehra-Diwali vacation will be of 27 days, the Winter vacations will be of seven days while the Summer vacations will be of 46 days. As per the order issued by the school education department, the Dussehra-Diwali vacations would start from October 22, 2012 and continue till November 17, 2012.

'Rent A Cab' service to be launched in Raipur

Alike metro cities in the country, 'Rent A Cab' service would be initiated in capital Raipur for convenient passenger transpiration. Also city bus services would be extended to other cities of the state including Durg, Rajnandgaon, Jagdalpur, Korba, Ambikapur and Raigarh alike Raipur and Bilaspur During a review meeting of Transport department on Tuesday, Transport Minister Rajesh Munat has asked the department officials to make a proposal in this regard ans submit the same to the state government.

Green Signal to promotion of Ram Niwas as Special DG

Protracted search for the new company to operate new 100 city buses was over, when Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) on Monday opened the financial bid of City Bus Operating Company. Jai Ambey Travel will operate the 100 new city buses in the capital city for next 10 years.

Power company has appealed the samitis to ensure connections so as to avoid any mishaps. it is observed during the Ganesh Chaturthi celebration that some samitis take power connection in an illegal manner.

Jyeshtha Nagrik Manch demands implementation of MWPSCA

"Like children are future citizens, the senior citizens are future children. In order to facilitate the 22 lakh senior citizens in the State, the Government should initiate measures for implementation of MWPSCA (Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizen Act 2007)," said Lalit Kumar Sao, President of Jyeshtja Nagrik Sangh at a press conference on Monday. Sao further stated that a delegation of Jyeshtha Nagrik Sangh met Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh recently and handed over a memorandum concerning various demands of the senior citizens in the State.

State-level Bankers' Committee meet held

The 47th meeting of State-level Bankers' Committee (SLBC) was held here at Hotel Babylon International on September 17. Chief Secretary Sunil Kuma chaired the meeting. Principal Secretary, Finance D S Mishra, Principal Secretary Agriculture M K Rout, General Manager and OIC of Reserve Bank of India Nirmal Chand, Chief General Manager of NABARD S K. Director of DIF Shri Narayan along with senior officials of Government Departments, commercial banks, regional rural banks, co-operative banks and lead bank managers were also present on the occasion.

Collector orders to set up district pension forum during 'Jandarshan'

Chhattisgarh pension Samaj President Dr. T K Bannerjee urged the Collector Siddhartha Komal Singh Pardeshi of speedy resolution of the pending pension cases during the 'Jandarshan; held on Monday in the Collectorate premises. Collector upon receiving the request, ordered the constitution of District level pension forum to sort out the various related cases. A total of 74 applications were received in the Monday's 'Jandarshan' programme.
