To check circulation of counterfeit notes in the city a special team will be formed, stated G P Singh, Raipur Range Inspector General of Police. He said that officials are investigation the source of fake currency recovered from three persons apprehended by Tikrapara police recently. Answering to media persons at a press conference held here on Wednesday at Police Control Room, Civil Line, IG ruled out the possibility of Raipur becoming a desired place for anti-socials to dispose counterfeits.

An order of termination against 311 striking shikshakarmis of Raipur district has been issued by the District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Shami Abidi. The CEO said that a total of 1239 shikshakarmis of the district officially joined duty and it has been reported to their respective block and district headquarters.

A Central Reserve Police Force trooper, said to be under stress, fired indiscriminately at his colleagues inside a camp in Dantewada, Chhattisgarh, killing four of them on the spot on Monday night after a brawl. Thirty-year-old Deep Kumar Tiwari, posted at the 111th battalion of CRPF in Aranpur village, a Naxal dominated area, flew into rage on being challenged by his camp-mates, grabbed a gun, and sprayed a head constable and three other constables with bullets. One trooper was wounded in the firing.
In a major breakthrough, Tikrapara police on Tuesday apprehended three persons for allegedly circulating fake currency notes and seized counterfeits notes worth rs 12,000 from them. Accused have purchased counterfeits notes worth Rs 1 lakh from Farid, a resident of Basna by expending Rs 60,000.
The 1.80 lakh striking shikshakarmis of the state had on Tuesday refused to accept the state government's offer of providing the benefits of the sixth pay panel recommendations to those shikshakarmis who had completed at least 14 years in the job.
