Weekly Train introduced for Korba & Hyderabad

Railway administration is running a special weekly train service between Korba and Hyderabad from November 22. The special train 07003/07004 Korba-Hyderabad-Korba Weekly Special Express would make five trips from Hyderabad on every Tuesday, starting from Hyderabad on November 22. Others days of departure of this special train from Hyderabad are November 29. Similarly, the train would make five trips from Korba starting from November 23. Other dates of departure from Korba are November 30, December 7, 14 and 21.

Lokpal lacks reservation for SC/ST/OBC/Minority:Meshram

Notification issued for Assembly Winter Session

Notification for the Winter Session of Third Assembly of Chhattisgarh was issued on November 22. As per the notification, the Winter Session would begin from December 15, 2011 and continue till December 23, 2011. During this period, the house would sit for seven meetings, i e, on December 15, 16,19, 20, 21, 22 and 23. December 17 and 18, begin Saturday and Sunday, it would remain holiday.

Students injured in clash during NSUI college election

The smooth going of National Students Union of India (NSUI) college elections received a sever jolt, when group belonging to former Chief Minister Ajit Joggi clashed with other group in a reputed college during the election proceedings here on Tuesday. Several students were reported to have been injured in the clash. Police resorted to mild lathi- charge to disburse the agitating students.

Check cement price rise in Chhattisgarh, demands Congress

Raipur : The Congress Tuesday asked Chhattisgarh's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government to take urgent steps to stem cement prices in the state that have risen a record 33 percent in the past three months.

"I am surprised that the state government has maintained a complete silence about rise of cement prices in the state that has seen about 33 percent jump in past three months without any rise in raw material cost," Leader of Opposition in assembly and Congress leader Ravindra Choubey said in his letter to Chief Minister Raman Singh.

Chhattisgarh to add 1,500 MW power by 2012

Raipur : Coal-rich Chhattisgarh will add 1,500 MW electricity by 2012 that will raise its power generation capacity to 3,424 MW from the current 1,924 MW, official sources said Tuesday.

"The work on 1,000 MW power project at Marwa-Tendubhata in Janjgir district and 500 MW Korba West power project are going on at war-footing and both projects will begin generation by 2012. It will raise Chhattisgarh government's power generation capacity to 3,424 MW," an official of the energy department told IANS.

Creda serves notice to CSPDCL and others
