'Brahmotsav' ceremony -

The 'Brahmotsav' ceremony of Lord Balaji. commenced with great traditional fervor and fanfare. Urban Administration Minister, Rajesh Munat inaugurated the ceremony which began with 'Garuda Dhwajarohan '. On the first day a grand religious rally was taken out with 'Shesha V Ahana' and will continue with different 'Vahanas' including 'Hanumantha Vahana' Garuda Vahana' and 'Brahma rath'. 'Srinivasa Kalyanam' ceremony will also be celebrated.

INTUC apprises SAIL mgmt about demands of employees

Steel Workers Union (INTUC) has apprised the SAIL management about the long standing demands of employees ans also handed over the memorandum consisting charter of demands. The memorandum consisting charter of demands regarding new wage revision and other facilities. The delegation representing the Union, led by General Secretary, Dilip Vishwas, after handing over the charter of demands also apprised IR in-charge officer about the aspirations of workers. DGM (IR) M hassan assured the delegation that he would inform about their demands to CEO (BSP) Pankaj Gautam at the earliest.

Chhattisgarh Girls' Netball team win silver in National C'ship

The Chhattisgarh Girls' Netball Team remained runner-up in the 17th Sub-junior National Netball Championship played at Guwahati from February 9 to February 13. The Chhattisgarhteam reached the final after defeating Karnatka, Himachal in the league match and Rajasthan in Chhattisgarh girls' team lost to Haryana by 25-29. ZZZTeam members were Ama, Alice Peter, Vaishali Pandey, Akanksha Pandey, Prachi Yadav, Ojaswita Mankar, Nishha Waman, Tileswari, Anch Agrawal, Ganga Yadav, Team manager O P Kataria.

PWD Department implements Public Service Act

Chhattisgarh Public Service Guarantee Act-2011 has been implemented in the State Public Works (PWD) Department, Under the Act, time period has been set for the registration of contractors and unemployed engineers for different works.
As per the notification issued by PWD, 15 days have been fixed for the registration of unemployed engineers (BE). Their registration will be done at Engineer-in-Chief Officer. Supervisor and Chief Engineer have been appointed as the designated officers for rendering the services.

'State Govt committed to provide basic amenities'

State Government is committed to provide basic amenities like roads, drainage, drinking water and electricity in the cities of State, said Urban Administration Minister Rajesh Munat while chairing a reviewer meeting was organised to review the progress of various projects under-way in different civic bodies. Munat instructed the Commissioners and Chief Executive Officers of Municipal Corporations and Councils to make arrangements of necessary amenities after the survey of cities. Munat also assured that Government will provide sufficient funds for development basic infrastructures in cities.

CPCC alleges irregularities in transfers of police officials posted in Naxal areas

The Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CPCC) has alleged ruling Government's role in the transfer in the Naxal-infested areas of the State. There is large scale of irregularities prevailing over transfer issued of the police officials, who by the ministers and senior bureaucrats are been demanded sizeable amount for the transfers, said members of the main Opposition Party. Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Arvind Netam has levelled the charges that the ruling BJP Government is not showing any seriousness to wards the Naxal problem i9n the State.

CRPF to Provide computer edn to Bastar students

Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), with the assistance of State Government, has decided to provide computer education to school students of Naxal-affected South Bastar (Dantewada) district. CRPF 199 Battalion has provided four computer sets to Government Higher Secondary School situated at Barsur. As there is no teacher of computer in imparting computer training to students themselves.

Exam pattern of IIT-JEE to be changed from next session

Once again the examination pattern of IIT-JEE (Indian Institute of Technology-Joint Entrance Examination) would be changed from next academic session 2013. According to the directives of Ministry of HRD (Human Resources Development) IIT-JEE and AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Examination) would be merged into one from and by 2013 there would be a common entrance examination for admission in leading engineering colleges of the nation including 15 IITs and 30 NITs (National Institute of Technology).
