Raipur, Oct 11 (PTI) A Naxal carrying a cash reward of Rs 25,000 was killed in an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district today, police said. The gunbattle took place near Chinari village forests when a group of 30 Maoists indiscriminately fired on a joint patrol team of the CRPF and state police, drawing retaliation from the security men, Narayanpur Superintendent of Police Mayank Shrivastava told PTI. The exchange of fire lasted for around 30 minutes after which Negi Rawat, who carried a cash reward of Rs 25,000 on his head, was found dead, he said.
GUWAHATI, Oct 11 – The State Government has relaxed the norm for appearance in the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) by removing the 50 per cent mark clause. Any graduate (both Science and Arts) will now be able to appear in the TET for LP and ME schools irrespective of the marks obtained at degree level.
Announcing this before the media today, Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the relaxation in norms was necessitated by the very low number of applications from science graduates for the ensuing TET.

Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government has suspended an additional chief secretary-ranked official of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) for bending the rules to allow the sale of tribal land to non-tribals, official sources said Tuesday.
T Radhakrishnan, a 1978 batch IAS officer, was suspended Monday. It is the first case of suspension of an official of this rank in the state that came into existence in November 2000.
A senior official with the General Administration Department (GAD) confirmed the development and said that a suspension letter had been issued late Monday.
