Chhattisgarh State Renewable Energy Development Agency (CREDA) has initiated 'Saur Mitra Akshay Urja' Shop Scheme, under which shops of solar energy based appliances will be opened in rural areas of state so as to establish marketing network there. 10 such shops will be opened in each district, where Solar lights, fans, TV etc will be available for sale.

State Government have approved Rs 48 crores for establishing Eklavya Aadarsh Boarding Schools in four tribal-populated districts of Chhattisgarh. Today, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Welfare Minister Kedar Kashyap told that on initiative of Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, these boarding schools will be opened in village Mardapal of Kondagaon district, District Headquarters Narainpur, village Besuli of Bastar district (Jagdalpur) and in village Dongaria of Marwahi Block of Bilaspur district. In these schools, about 1680 children will be given admission in classes 6th-12th.
In two different daring attacks by the Leftist Insurgents, three security personnel of Chhattisgarh Armed Force were killed while one was critically injured. The leftist guerrillas first attacked a Para Military Camp in the Temalvada area under the limits of Chintagufa Police Station at Sukma district on Sunday. Following this, they pressed another attack at the Doordarshan (DD) Center of Teli Marega, situated 10 kilometers away from Bastar during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.
Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh on Tuesday advised the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of South-East Coalfield Limited (SECL), N Kumar and other senior officials to open 'Aajivika' colleges in the coal mining areas of the State to train the rural and urban youths, so that they can be made self employed. the delegation of the SECL officials led by the CMD paid a courtesy to the Chief Minister on Tuesday.
