Prime Minister lays foundation stone of 40,000 housing units' project

Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi today on his second visit to Chhattisgarh gifted the State with innumerable projects. He laid the foundation stone of 'Sabke Liye Awaas' Mission meant for the Economically Weaker Sections of the society at Naya Raipur. About 40 thousand houses will be built catering to the needs of the socially disadvantaged sections. He launched 'RURBAN' (Rural-urban) Mission at Kurrubhat (Dongarhgarh) in Rajnandgaon district. The main aim of the project is to provide urban amenities in rural settings.

Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi today said that the Union Government had moved out of New Delhi and reached the door-steps of common citizens. This Government works in the midst of farmers and Adivasis. Mr. Modi added this was made possible with the blessings of 'Janata-Janardhan'. The launching of any scheme is not behind the closed doors of Vigyan Bhawan and New Delhi. The Union Government schemes are meant for the poor, farmers, oppressed, deprived and Adivasis sections of the society.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today said that ‘JAM’ (Jandhan-Aadhaar-Mobile) will become key principles in realizing the Prime Minister’s ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ dream.

He said that drawbacks and limitations in government schemes could be removed with the help of technology, making its implementation more successful in elevating the living standards of the poor.

District Collector Thakur Ram Singh directed the bank officials to provide benefit of Pradhan Mantri Surksha Beema Yojna (PMMSBY) and other social security schemes of the central government to the beneficiaries. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today honoured Chhattisgarh’s Tanuja Raichuria for her exemplary work in ‘Digital India’ initiative. The prime minister awarded her with a laptop and a citation at the launch of Digital India week here at Indra Gandhi Indoor Stadium. Raichuria was awarded for providing various digital facilities to villagers through an ICT enabled Common Service Center (CSC) in Dhamtari and enrolling workers under Digital Saksharta Abhiyan (DISHA).
