'Kids Take-Over' programme was organized as a part of International Children's Day jointly by the Chhattisgarh State Child Rights' Protection Commission and United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF). A Training cam cum kit distribution programme for Haj pilgrims was organised at Khalsa School, Pandri on Sunday. On this occasion, all the 116 selected pilgrims for the holy 'Haj Yatra' this year were provided training about the local costumes and disciplines to be followed at Mecca besides administering vaccines for avoiding the swine flu and brain fever.

Owing to the natural calamity, Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi's programme scheduled on May 9 in Naya Raipur have been postponed. But the sequence of his programmes in Dantewada remains unchanged. As a storm hit Naya Raipur today afternoon, the massive dome under-construction in IIIT premise, which was being built for Prime Minister's programme, fell off. Number of employees and labourers were injured in the incident. As soon as Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh received the information, he reached on spot and inspected the venue.

Sakshar Bharat programme yields commendable results in Sarguja district

Sakshar Bharat programme has illuminated entire Sarguja district of Chhattisgarh with the light of knowledge and literacy. Other than Sarguja district, two development blocks namely Tilda (Raipur district) and Ambagarh Chowki (Rajnandgaon district), and five Gram Panchayats of the state namely Uparwah (Rajnandgaon district), Jhirmiti (Sarguja district), Mohandi (Mahasamund district), Borgaon (Kondagaon district), and Teknar (Dantewada district) have also attained success in significantly elevating literacy rate under Sakshar Bharat Programme.

Dr. Raman Singh becomes the first Chief Minister to initiate e-public interaction programme

Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh today commenced the e-public interaction programme (E-Jandarshan) at his residence office in capital city Raipur, wherein applicants of various districts conveyed their grievances to Chief Minister on through Google Hangout application. Dr Raman Singh has become the first Chief Minister of the country to have established online contact with public through this information technology based application.
