Chhattisgarh Ranks among the top three States of Nation in production of minerals

13th meeting of State-level geological programme board being held.

Chhattisgarh has ranked among the top three states of nation in terms of production of various kinds of minerals. This information was given at the 13th meeting of state-level geological programme board organized by Directorate of Geology and Mining of State Government. In the meeting, the proposed geological programmes for mineral exploration in current financial year 2013-14, were finalized. The meeting of geological programme board was chaired by Mineral Resource Department Secretary MK Tyagi.

Rs 26.63 crores approved for Maragaon anicut

State Government has approved more than Rs 26. 63 crores for construction of Maragaon anicut on River Sondhur in Magarlod development block of Dhamtari district. This fund has been approved under Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme (AIBP) with a condition that the construction work will start only after the amount of fund is sanctioned. This scheme will facilitate water exit, groundwater augmentation and irrigation capacity of 1580 hectares area.

Hostel Buildings to be constructed for 10 Polytechnic Colleges of Chhattisgarh

Hostel buildings will be constructed for 10 government polytechnic colleges in Chhattisgarh. State government has approved the proposals of hostel building construction for the Government Polytechnic Colleges in Korba, Janjgir-Champa, Dhamtari, Durg, Raigarh, Ambikapur, Kabeerdham, Mahasamund, Takhatpur, and Government Girls Polytechnic College in Jagdalpur. State Government has sanctioned Rs 1 crore for construction of each hostel building. Technical Education Department has given the responsibility of the construction work to Chhattisgarh State Housing Board.

Urban Administration Minister Shri Amar Agrawal inaugurated and laid foundation of various development works worth about Rs 3.75 crore in Nagar Panchayat Nagri, during his visit to Dhamtari district yesterday. Moreover, he also announced approval of funds worth Rs 4 crores for construction of Gaurav Path, cultural hall, primary health centre and graveyard within the limit of Nagar Panchayat Nagri.
