Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh today made several crucial announcements for the welfare of drought-affected farmers and farm labourers. He gave details of the relief measures on the floor of Vidhan Sabha and later outside the Assembly premises. He said that agriculture and farmer are the top priority of the State Government. In difficult times of severe drought in Chhattisgarh the administration is providing all relief to the farmers.
Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh today made several announcements to ameliorate the sufferings of farmers of drought-hit Chhattisgarh. He was speaking on the occasion of the Chhattisgarh Formation Day here. He said immediate relief will be provided to the farmers. Governor Mr. Balramji Das Tandon presided over the function and Union Finance Minister Mr. Arun Jaitley was the chief guest.
A delegation from Kasdol Pensioners' Association gave a cheque for Rs 15000 to Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh in the presence of Speaker Gaurishankar Agrawal at Chhattisgarh Assembly on Tuesday for Chief Minister's Relief Fund for Nepal Earthquake victims. The delegation was led by its President Ramkrishna Mishra and Vice President Atmaram Sahu.
Delegation of Kota-Ratanpur region of Bilaspur district handing over a cheque of Rs 1 lakh to Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh for the Chief Minister Relief Fund here at his resdence on Monday. The delegation led by MLA Sanjay Sahu paid courtesy visit to the Chief Minister on Monday during the course of which Dr. Singh expressed gratitude towards the delegates.
Representatives of Chhattisgarh Prantiya Agrawal Sammelan met Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh and handed him a Cheque amounting Rs 3 lakhs as donation for the relief of Uttrakhand Flood victims. Dr. Singh expressed gratitude towards the delegates for such a noble cause.
Dr. Raman Singh, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, who is also in-charge of the Finance portfolio, also today made the following announcements in Vidhan Sabha after the discussion on the Appropriation Bill :
1. MGNREGA :- The scheme provides for, at least, 100 days of guaranteed employment to each rural household registered under MGNREGA. Dr. Singh said that proposal to increase it to 150 days per year was sent to the Government of India, but no decision has, so far, been taken on this by GoI.

Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh has directed all district Collectors to ensure all necessary measures for disaster management in their respective areas keeping in view the recent incessant rainfall due to which flood like situations has developed in many districts. Accordingly., on the directive of the Chief Minister, the Revenue and Disaster Management department has sanctioned Rs 32 crores for all the districts for the current financial year.
