Government to establish blood banks in 13 districts within a month

State government will establish blood banks in thirteen districts of the state within a month. State Health Minister Amar Agrawal has directed the health department officials in a review meeting to make all the necessary arrangements in this regard. The minister informed that the blood banks will be started in Jashpur, Narainpur, Bijapur, Kondagaon, Sukma, Balrampur, Surajpur, Janjgir-Champa, Mungeli, Bemetara, Balod, Gariaband and Baloda Bazaar districts within a month. It may be mentioned that the state health department is presently running blood banks in sixteen districts.

Area under corn cultivation increasing significantly in hilly areas of Chhattisgarh

As a result of the measures taken by state government in tribal populated hilly areas of Chhattisgarh to encourage farmers, the area of land under corn cultivation is increasing significantly. Promising impact of the same has also been witnessed in Balrampur-Ramanujganj district of Sarguja Revenue Division. Large number of farmers is taking interest in corn cultivation in Baghima, Parsa and many other villages of Rajpur block of this district.

Livelihood Colleges to be opened In 10 districts

Shri Premprakash Pandey, Technical and Manpower Development Minister, on Wednesday said that 10 Livelihood Colleges will be started soon at- Narainpur, Gariyaband, Dhamtari, Balodabazar, Mahasamund, Mungeli, Janjgir-Chapa, Balrampur, Surajpur, Koriya.

CM approves 152 crore for wildlife conservation projects

Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh approved Rs 152 crores for the two wildlife conservation projects 'Gajraaj' and Jaamwant' for the conservation of Elephants and Bears while chairing the meeting of Forest officials on Friday. Both the projects will be funded under the Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) fund. The allotted funds will be spent in the period of five years in both the projects.

Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Dr. Raman Singh on Tuesday had a meeting with Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Shri Jual Oram at New Delhi, where they discussed development and expansion of education and other facilities in tribal-populated areas. With a view to decrease school dropout rates in remote areas of Chhattisgarh, the Centre on Tuesday accorded sanction for construction of 13 hostels/ashrams of 500-seater capacity in tribal-dominated areas with no school facilities told Minister Oram in the meeting.

Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand today chaired a meeting of district level senior officials of various departments in Balrampur headquarters of Balrampur-Ramanujganj district of Sarguja Revenue Division. He reviewed the administrative activities of the districts as well as the schemes of various departments. Chief Secretary said that Balrampur-Ramanujganj is a newly formed district and all the officials should work with team spirit as per the policies of state government for the development of this district.

Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh has performed 'bhomipujan' and dedication of several development works worth Rs 330 crore in Balrampur-Ramanujganj district under Surguja revenue division. The district is celebrating the first anniversary of its formation. The Chief Minister has been participating in the anniversary celebrations of newly constituted districts in the state, In around six new new districts, The Chief Minister has announced so far development works around Rs 1636 crore.
