An estimated budget for State Handloom Development and Marketing Federation, the under taking of Gramudyog Department, for the financial year 2013-14 would be Rs 315 crores. In Annual General Meeting of federation it was approved along with other action plan. Federation Chairman Santosh Dewangan was also present during the meeting, in which it was decided to provide 50 per cent of profit amount as bonus to the members of cooperative committees for year 2011-12.

On the occasion of World No Tobacco Day, Chhattisgarh NCC Naval Unit-1 organized a campaign for creating public awareness about health hazards caused due to consumption of tobacco, at Raipur based National Cadet Core (NCC) Group Headquarters. Under this campaign, CG NCC Naval Unit organized a rally and appealed people to stop consuming tobacco and the products with tobacco content. In a programme organized at NCC Group Headquarters, youths took a pledge to shun the habit of tobacco consumption.

Governor Shekhar Dutt, on Wednesday, visited village Tekari in Dhareseenva to meet console the family of slain Congress leader Yogendra Sharma in the May 25 Naxal attacks carried out in Darbha. Governor Dutt met Late Sharma's son Harshit and daughter Neha Sharma to offer solidarity in these difficult times. Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh's weekly public interaction programme- 'Jandarshan' scheduled on May 30 Thursday, has been cancelled. Instead, Chief Minister will mark his presence at 'All-party Meet' to be organized at Mantralaya on May 30 in order to discuss the effective ways to solve the problem of naxalism. Jandarshan programme will not be held on May 30, owing to this important meeting to be held on the same day.
