Governor Shekhar Dutt took part in the week-long religious ceremony entitled 'Shrimad Bhagwat Katha Gyan Yagya' organised at the residence of Culture Minister Brijmohan Agrawal here on Friday. The Governor also welcomed renowned 'Katha Vachak' Pt Vijay Shankar Mehta (Ujjan) at the occasion.
On the lines of Pradhan Mantri Rozgaar Yojna, the Chhattisgarh Government is all set to initiate Mukhayamantri Yuva Swarozgaar Yojna for encouraging youths in the State for entrepreneurship. Under the scheme, youths will be provided loans through nationalised banks for starting small scale industries and service industries. This was informed by N Bajendra Kumar, Principal Secretary during a departmental review meeting of Commerce and Industries department.
Governor Shekhar Dutt has expressed deep condolence on sad demise of renowned Dhrupad singer Ustad Zia Fariduddin Dagar. Governor Dutt said that Ustad Dagar gave a new dimension to classical singing in Dhrupad style, which was acclaimed at national and international-level.
Tourism and Culture Minister Brijmohan Agrawal, on Thursday, dedicated the newly-built Shankaracharya Sanskritik Bhawan in ward 21 under the Mahasamund Municipality. On this occasion, Agrawal called 'Bhavan' as the most beautiful auditorium in the state and said that he is associated with the auditorium since the very beginning.

For effective implementation of various sub schemes for the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST), a meeting, chaired by Chief Secretary Sunil Kumar, was held at the Mantralaya, Naya Raipur on Tuesday. Kumar directed all the officials to plan schemes, as per the need, for the development of the SC and ST people living in the State. He also directed the officials for preparing the special beneficiaries during the making of departmental schemes taking assistance from the planning department.
Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh announced an additional instalment of dearness allowance for more than 2 lakh employees of state government, on fourth day of state-wide Vikas Yatra-2013. Dr Singh has pronounced the hike of 8 per cent on dearness allowance for state government employees. In compliance with the announcement of Chief Minister, Finance Department of state government has increased the dearness allowance of government employees from 72 per cent to 80 per cent.
