Chief Minister launches 'Mahatari Jatan Yojana'

CM launching the scheme by serving hot nutritious food to women at Anganwadi center

Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh today said that programmes and policies can be formulated by interacting with masses and by not sitting in Ivory Towers and air-conditioned plush rooms. He added cheap rice scheme, free distribution of salt, grams, Nutritious diet scheme, purchase of minor forest produce on Minimum Support Price and many crucial decisions had been taken sitting in the sylvan surroundings of the rural settings. They benefited the common masses.

Dr. Raman Singh was launching the 'Mukhyamantri Mahatari Jatan Yojana' at village Salgaonwakla (Sonhat Development block) in Korea district. He served hot nutritious food to the women at the Anganwadi centre. Under the scheme, free food will be provided free of cost to pregnant women six days a week. About 2.50 lakh pregnant women will be benefitted from the yojana. A war had been launched against the malnourishment and it will be eliminated soon. He added Divisional Revenue Office will be established soon, total electrification of Korea district in two years and 100 villages in Bharatpur region will be lit by power from Chhattisgarh. At present the villages are provided with electricity from Madhya Pradesh. In order to attain total 'Swachchta' total participation the people is needed along with administration. He performed 'Bhoomipoojan' of developmental works worth Rs 91 crore and dedicated works worth Rs 17 crore at Sonhat.

Dr. Raman Singh said all the policies are formulated keeping in focus farmers, villages and the poor. The Sonhat Development block villages will be lit within two years.
