Agriculture Minister Chandrashekhar Sahu handed over a cheque of Rs 25 lakh to Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh as an aid for the calamity victims of Uttarakhand, today at his residence. This amount has been contributed by Chhattisgarh State Agriculture Marketing Board to Chief Minister's Relief Fund. Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said that it is our moral duty and social responsibility to help those in trouble, and thanked Agriculture Minister and all the officials and employees of Agriculture Marketing Board for their contribution.

Public Health Engineering (PHE) Minister Kedar Kashyap informed today that PHE department has initiated a special drive for repairing and treatment of wells, public handpumps, tanks of Nal-Jal Scheme, pipelines and other water resources under the department, in view of ongoing rainy season. Under this drive, Health Department in coordination with Gram Panchayats and Urban Bodies will use chlorine tablets and bleaching powder in all the sources of drinking water so as to ensure supply of safe and uncontaminated drinking-water.
More than 4.73 lakh beneficiaries are availing the benefits of monthly pension under Social Security Pension Scheme conducted by State Government's Social Welfare Department. Under this scheme, destitute senior citizens of age 60 years or above, destitute widow or divorced women of age above 50 years, destitute disable person of age 6-14 years, school students or disable children belonging to BPL families, and destitute disable person of age above 14 years are provided monthly pension of Rs 200 each.

Taking a serious note of the complaints of land encroachment in four wards of Birgaon Municipal Council, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh has ordered the District Collector concerned to carryout demarcation of government land in the area, and assured the delegation from Birgaon that the accused found guilty of land encroachment after demarcation will be subjected to strict legal action.
Chief Secretary Sunil Kumar reviwed the progress in making of Aadhar Card in the State. Sunil Kumar instructed to expedite provision of Aadhar number so that the public would be benefited by the scheme of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and amount could be directly deposited in their bank accounts. For this he has instructed Panchayat and Rural development department and Food Department to coordinate with the Aadhar card making agencies and Registrar General of India by providing them with human resources.
Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Dr Raman Singh has expressed grief over the incident of helicopter crash in Gaurikund, Uttarakhand. Dr Singh said that it was a heart-rending accident that claimed lives of our 20 brave soldiers, crew members and relief personnel, who were on the operation to rescue and relieve the calamity victims. They have sacrificed their lives while rescuing the calamity victims in Uttarakhand, added Dr Singh. Chief Minister has paid homage to all the relief personnel, who lost their life in the accident, and has expressed condolences to the bereaved families.
Dr Raman Singh, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh State, has expressed deep condolence on sad demise of Shri Subhash Yadav, former Deputy Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, at New Delhi today. Dr Raman Singh said that late Mr Yadav was a diligent and active public representative. Before formation of Chhattisgarh state, Mr Subhash Yadav used to visit Chhattisgarh region quite often as Cooperation Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of the then undivided Madhya Pradesh.
