Nagar Suraaj Abhiyaan was organised with the objective to understand the ground reality of Public issues and to know the actual status of progress of various public welfare schemes being run by the State Government, said Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Brijmohan Agrawal at Nagar Suraaj Camps on Monday. It is medium to address the issues and grievances of urban people. State Government has undertaken numerous works to fulfill the basic needs of urban populations Agrawal added.
Terming the Nagar Suraaj Abhiyaan as fully driven by political motives, the Opposition Congress on the second and final phase of public contact campaign gave fitting reply by organizing grand finale of 'Save City Drive' at Azad Chowk in the State capital on Monday. The party alleged that had Dr. Raman Singh Government focused on benefiting the people of the State, the need would not have arisen for such public contact campaign at the juncture when Assembly elections are nearing.
Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh has expressed his gratitude to all the people in the state particularly residing in urban areas for the over-whelming support given by them to the Nagar Suraaj Abhiyaan. he said in order to make campaign a grand success, all MPs, MLAs, elected representatives of urban bodies and all departmental employees and officials was first, overwhelming response was first, overwhelming response was given by the people in almost all districts.
The rurals of the village Kayabandha within the Naya Raipur accorded a warm welcome to the Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh on Sunday evening. They also conveyed their gratitude on the occasion at the ongoing developmental works worth Rs 6 crores being undertaken by the Naya Raipur Development Authority (NRDA). The development works being under taken includes construction of Cement Concrete (CC) roads, playgrounds and commercial premises in the village.
State Water Resources and Higher Education Minister Ramvichar Netam performed bhoomopujan for development works worth Rs 12 crore at Ward-14 of Balod Municipal Council. Netam also extended best wishes of Deouthni to the citizen. He said that after the Gram Suraaj Abhiyaan, State Government is carrying out nagar Suraaj Abhiyaan in the state.
Nagar Suraaj Abhiyaan is the voice of people residing in urban areas of Chhattisgarh, stated Housing and Environment Minister Rajesh Munat. He visited Nagar Suraaj Camps at different Wards of the Raipur and took complaints from the Raipur citizens. Public welfare schemes of the State Government are being run without any discrimination, Munat addressed. Rajesh Munat further said every section of the society is being given benefited by various welfare schemes.
Through the NAgar Suraaj Abhiyaan, citizens are getting the opportunity to register their complaints and demands at single window, stated Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Brijmohanr Agrawal. he was addressing the Nagar Suraaj Campus at Swami Vivekanand Ward, Kankalipara Ward, Pt. Sunderlal Sharma Ward, Pt. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Ward and Moreshwar Rao Gadre Ward on Sunday. After the success in rural areas, State Government decided to carryout similar campaign in urban areas also. The data gathered in the abhiyaan will help formulate better development work plan.
Asserting that the Nagar Suraaj Abhiyaan initiated by the State Government has shown a new path of development to the country, Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh said through this campaign a positive message has gone among the populace residing in urban areas and to achieve the same, State Governments should work in coordination with urban bodies. The Chief Minister observed these while addressing a large gathering while kicking-off the second phase of Nagar Suraaj Abhiyaan functions organised in Ambikapur the head quarter of Surguja revenue division.
Many significant decisions including 30 days maternity leave to women working under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGS), increase of employment days under MNREGS, purchase of minor forest produce products through Minor Forest Produce Cooperative Societies, separate law against fake caste certificate holders, etc were taken in the meeting of Tribal Advisory Council held at Shivnath Bhavan on Sunday evening.
