The CM Dr. Raman Singh has distributed cheques to the beneficiaries under the National Family Support Scheme (NFSS) on Sunday. He had also dedicated and performed bhoomi pujan for various development works in Korba district.
Asserting that the Congress leaders should stop dreaming about forming Government in Chhattisgarh, Bhartiya Janata Party State President Ramsewak Paikra said that the magic of Rahul Gandhi has faded and it won't work. He said doubts on the intenion of Congress are still prevailing in the minds of people in Chhattisgarh. Paikra said the party which doesn't gives partronage its manifesto, how can one have faith in such a party.
A class 12th girl student from Mohadapara committed suicide soon after hearing the news of her failure in the examination. Shahnaaz Parveen alias Babali had committed suicide by setting her afire by pouring kerosene. She was informed about the same by one of her friends. The Mohadapara police is investigating the case. According to sources, the girl's parents were at one of their neighbors place at the time of the incident.

The overall pass percentage in the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) is up by over 2 per cent in 2012 as against 2011. Total 73.87 per cent students cleared their class 12th examination in 2012 as against 71.74 in 2011. Girls continue their trend to outshine boys in the examination. The result was declared by school Education Minister Brijmohan Agrawal at the CGBSE office in presence of the CGBSE Chairman T Radhakrishnan. he also pressed the button for online result publication.

The civil service preliminary examination organised by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) New Delhi, will be held on May 20. In Chhattisgarh only Raipur has been chosen as the center for this examination. the exam will be held in 2 shifts from 9.30am to 11.30am and from 2.30pm to 4.30 pm respectively. The examiness will be allowed into the examination hall 20 minutes before the exam starts and will not bwe allowed to enter in any case, 10 minutes after the start.
MMTC has organised a placement week between May 7 and 12. During this period total 29 students were recruited by various companies from seven campus placements. Five out of twenty students selected by Kolkata based firm Multimodes Ventures.

On the third-day of the ongoing house allotment, total 218 families were allotted with house been constructed under the Basic Service to Urban Poor (BSUP)in Shukla Hall of Old RMC Headquater on Friday. On the total,78 families were from Pt. Ravishankar Shukla Ward, 53 from Rani Durgawati Ward and 87 families from Mother Teresa Ward. It is to be noteworthy that all these families were squatting over an irrigation canal, which runs through the above mentioned wards.
